OPEN THE VALVE 1. Open the valve fully using the lifting lever and then latch into positon using the latch bars provided. This is accomplished as follows: First open the valve as shown in the drawing to the right.
| 2. While holding the valve fully open, pull the Release Pin on the right hand Latch Bar and slide the bar away from the center of the valve as shown below. Repeat this operation for the left Latch Bar. Now it is possible to raise the valve approximately 4" higher.

| 3. Next - while holding the Clamp Arm in this higher position, again pull the Release Pin on the right hand Latch Bar and this time slide the bar towards the center of the valve, back to its original position. Repeat this procedure for the left hand Latch Bar. Refer to the diagram at the right.
