MODEL II SPILL VALVE

TESTING

PROCEDURES:    The following procedures describe both Operational Testing and Set Point Testing.

OPERATIONAL TEST:     The Operational Test verifies that all components of the Valve are free to function and that the Valve can be manually opened and reset.

The Operational Test Procedure is performed as follows:

  • Lift the Operating Handle up to the horizontal position and then use this handle to raise the Valve up until it stops at an angle approximately 25° above the deck. Raising the Valve 25° will raise both the Clamp Arm and the Seal Plate Assembly.
  • Next, while continuing to hold the Valve open, inspect the rubber Valve Seal lip for damage.
  • After inspecting the Valve Seal, lower the Valve back to its closed position.
